Bejaarden & Begeerte

This week Oscar Kocken and I started a new project called ‘Bejaarden en Begeerte ‘or ‘Seniors and Passion’. B&B is a long term project with many different creative components all dealing with the three main aspects of Passion: Heart (love, relations, dating, falling in) Physical (lust, sex, erotism, body) and Psycological (loneliness, missing, longing, wanting, needing) And that for and about people older than 65years old.

Our thesis is simple: When it comes to passion you dont speak about it with your children or your parents but you do have to speak about it. Since the passion aspects are ageless we open up the dialogue with our grandparents. Therefore Under 35 meets above 65 in stories, interviews, a showcase, happenings and much more.

We will keep you updated as usual on a website which is now being built and that will be linked on nhelden.nl

The first fase of the project is research and making a performance supported by Het Zuidelijk Toneel, that will be played in retirement homes and all centra where the 65+ meet up.

Try outs B&B succes

This week we did three try outs of the theatre show for Old People and Passion that we will perform in may and june during the Hartsocht festival of HZT. I must say, we were pleasantly surprised by how many people came, and by the reactions afterwards. Old and young were very positive and even moved by the show.

Thanks to all the talks we had with the audience afterwards we shortened and strenthened our show. What also worked very well was putting the young people, who came without a 65+ partner, together with a 65+ visitor. All new formed couples stayed after the show and shared stories and emotions. We will definitely do this again for our shows in May and June.

Bejaarden en begeerte

In one and a half week we play the try outs of the Niet ver van je Bed show (not far from your bed show) the performance that is part of Bejaarden en Begeerte (old people and passion)

We ve been on the national radio (Radio 2), on NPS and Omroep Max Television and in many news papers to tell the story about our project. For us a very important part in this project because in this way we open up the dialogue between old and young about love and intimacy on many different levels.

We play 28th (20u), 29th (14u)and 30th (20u) of december in Tilburg the try outs.

Old people and Passion

We are now over half way in our project Bejaarden en Begeerte about passion at 65+. We did interviews with psychologists, activity organisers, priests, old people and many more, we made a radio show in an old people’s home, went with a camera on the street, presented a bingo afternoon,  and made preparations for more activities the coming weeks to do. Our new project Seniors and Passion or Bejaarden&Begeerte is now online (in Dutch) with blogs, pictures, info and much more; the whole project is about love, intimicay and passion above 65 and that in relation to us (twenty to thirty year olds)
