I-jesus is a performance by Niels Kuiters, designed by Pam Toonen in a concept by Lucas.

The image rose during a rehearsal at the national Art Gallery of Kosovo in Prishtina during the Roll With It tour. It never left our mind so when we came back we decided to take it one step further and make a performance out of it.

This how Pam described the first time we did the performance at club NDSM 09/10

Last week I spend most of the time with Niels building a wall out of wood. Doesn’t sound very spectacular. So I’m not going to describe how we actually did it, and I’m also not going to say anything about the little shit problems like no tools, small budget, little time and elementary matter of building something really stable.
The wall we made is an essential part of the performance where Niels is hanging on the wall like Jesus on the cross with as only article of clothing an iPhone.
Friday evening we performed at ‘ClubNDSM’ during the opening of the exhibition ‘Waterworks’ in the NDSM-docks. I’m really proud of Niels who could stand 1,5 hours of hanging 3 meters high in a cold space full of people watching him and calling his iPhone
