We hebben de laatste tijd, voornamelijk in het kader van De Club in verschillende steden performances in de openbare ruimte uitgevoerd.

Zo waren er:

Touwtrekken in Eindhoven

Bejaarden op daken in Amsterdam en Eindhoven

I Jezus in de aula van de TU

Brandend vraagteken

Straatinterviews zowel over liefde op latere leeftijd als over waar vecht je voor, overal in het land

10min Dj actie in verschillende steden namens De Club en heel recent ook op vraag van de gemeente Amsterdam in het kader van hun campagne tegen discriminatie.

Met trots zien wij hoe onze zoektocht naar het ingaan en aangaan van de openbare ruimte steeds meer navolging, inbedding en begrip krijgt. Ook mogen we tot onze vreugde vaststellen dat de pers heel erg gretig verslag uitbrengt van onze acties. (Voorpagina Parool, Voorpagina ED, JFK maganzine, SBS Shownews, Volkskrant, Omroep Brabant, RTV NH, enz.)

The raw Ijesus

Saturday I performed I-Jesus at the closing party of Someting Raw festival in Theatre Frascati. After hanging for two hours I had swollen feet, almost couldn’t move my right arm but was very satisfied. The party was great and we danced into the small hours.

I-jesus is a performance by Niels Kuiters, designed by Pam Toonen in a concept by Lucas.

The image rose during a rehearsal at the national Art Gallery of Kosovo in Prishtina during the Roll With It tour. It never left our mind so when we came back we decided to take it one step further and make a performance out of it.

Last week I spend most of the time with Niels building a wall out of wood. Doesn’t sound very spectacular. So I’m not going to describe how we actually did it, and I’m also not going to say anything about the little shit problems like no tools, small budget, little time and elementary matter of building something really stable.
The wall we made is an essential part of the performance where Niels is hanging on the wall like Jesus on the cross with as only article of clothing an iPhone.
Friday evening we performed at ‘ClubNDSM’ during the opening of the exhibition ‘Waterworks’ in the NDSM-docks. I’m really proud of Niels who could stand 1,5 hours of hanging 3 meters high in a cold space full of people watching him and calling his iPhone
